Discover Scuba Diving in Batangas for A Day

Do you want to try scuba diving? We found this discover scuba diving day tour by Scuba Buddies! You can try scuba diving even if you are not yet certified.

For only 2800 php, you can try scuba diving in Batangas. Van from Manila to Batangas vv, Boat Ride, Lunch and sidetrips are already included. Here’s a summary of our day trip in Batangas.

Basics and Orientation

We arrived in Batangas at around 7 am. The van trip from Manila to Batangas is around 2.5 hrs. Prior riding the boat, the divemaster oriented us about breathing and hand signals.

Pre-Dive Exercises

We road the boat to our dive site. We performed pre dive exercises at the shore. There were 3 divemasters and 3 participants in every batch. The divemasters taught breathing, mask clearing, regular clearing and equalization. Once the participants are comfortable, they can proceed with the diving.

Discover Dive

One divemaster will accompany 1 participant during the actual discover dive. The dive takes around 10-20 mins. The divemaster will assist the student/participant in every step of the dive. For those who are already certified, you can opt to dive with the participants with no divemaster. There are many soft corals and fishes. The dive is only at 20-30ft, very conservative for beginners.

Snorkeling

After your dive, you can go snorkeling while waiting for the others to finish. There are a lot of soft corals and fishes even in the shallow waters, around 10-20 ft. You can free dive in this area.

Sidetrip to Taal Basilica

After the dive, we ate lunch prepared by the tour organizer. We also went to the top where we can see the 360 view of Mt Maculot, Taal, Batulao and Makiling.

We ate delicious lomi in San Juan Batangas for merienda.

We also went to Taal Basilica, the largest church in Asia, for short prayers and picture taking.

Tips and What to Bring

  • Bring your underwater camera. Ask your divemaster to take photos of you.
  • Bring your own mask, snorkel and fins so you could snorkel and free even after the scuba dive.
  • Be healthy and avoid having colds as it would be more difficult to equalize if you have a clogged nose.
  • Bring rashguard and leggings. You can buy these from Zalora.
